Homeschooling is a blessing. I was reminded of that as a I shuttled my three kids from piano lessons (where we furiously flew through Spelling and Math, check, check) on to Swim Team practice where we’ll camp by the pool with our books, Nooks, and computers and splash away the next 2 ½ hours. Have cooler and book bags. Will travel. A lot. From baseball to dance class to art lessons to soccer practice to soccer games and a bunch of church activities in between. All while accomplishing more academically than most kids in public or private school can. How do we do it? You know the answer: Homeschooling, where you can custom design your schedule to suit your family’s needs and priorities, where you can work at your child’s pace and often accomplish in 15 minutes what it takes an hour do in school (I know this firsthand—I was a public school teacher once upon a time), where you don’t have to spend your evenings supervising countless hours of (often) superfluous homework. What a blessing to be able to explore a range of activities and opportunities. Just one more reason I’m thankful to be a homeschool mom!
